EXACTLY THE DAY WE WANTED

When we got engaged., my partner and I knew we really wanted to have a London based wedding but we were worried all the venues would be beyond our price range. Then we saw that Brown and Green Life offer weddings and we decided to go along and have a look at the venue. From our first meeting with Laura at the venue, it just felt right to us. Possibly that's because we had a lot in common with Laura, all of us being from performing arts backgrounds, but the vibe of the space was also friendly, open and welcoming. Crystal Palace Park was a special place for us, as it's where we started our relationship half a decade ago. The combination of the personal element of the location and the welcome we received from Laura made us know that this was the space for us. Laura was so accommodating of all our requests - mostly, we wanted to keep things simple but there were a few key touches that were very important for us. The space is so flexible, we could really make it our own. However, the aesthetic of the event space and the lighting already in place meant that it looked gorgeous without us having to put a lot of effort in! Laura was really flexible with us setting up the day before as well and a big help in terms of getting everything ready for the big day. On the day itself, she and her incredible team made everything run so smoothly and it felt so relaxed and joyful! One of the biggest pieces of feedback from our guests was how amazing the food was. We requested an all vegetarian wedding and I made a special dessert request as well. Jess and her chef team at Spam delivered an incredible wedding feast, canapes and evening food - I'm still thinking about the roasties to this day! My husband and I had eaten at Brown and Green many times over our years living in south London but the wedding food was extra special. Cannot recommend Spam and their catering enough! Another thing I want to shout out is how well Laura took care of my grandparents. Both are in their 90s and it was so important to me and them that they attended. Laura had them listed as VIPs from the very start of the planning process and she made sure they were always comfortable, warm and provided them with cups of tea on demand. They had a wonderful day and I was so happy they could be accommodated so well. Overall, it was an absolutely joyous day and we felt so special. It was the dance-filled, love-filled, silliness-filled day that we wanted and we wouldn't change a thing. Thank you so much B&G team! xxx
